Fish South Champion!
MAP Consultant, Alex Clements has become the Fish South 2025 Champion following a thrilling two-day final at Essex bagging mecca, Puddledock Farm!

After qualifying for the final at Puddledock earlier this summer, Alex felt confident of doing well in the flagship southern big money final, which is keenly contested by many of the biggest names on the competitive southern match scene.

Day 1 saw Alex heading to permanent peg two (Fish South peg 1) where a mix of tactics, caught him fish throughout the match but a great spell in the margins fishing paste took him to a Day 1 match win with a massive 234lb, and he couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the final.
Day 2 was all about maintaining that lead, and peg 61 was a steady draw, to hopefully keep Alex at the front of the chasing pack!
After catching a few fish mugging around the surface scum, fishing pellets short and across on the pole kept him ticking over until the later stages when the margins came alive fishing paste once again.
At the end of the match Alex put another 226lb on the scales to record another match win!

His two-day total of 460lb was 124lb more than second placed Ben Townsend, just showing how dominant his performance and tactics had been over the weekend.
After the presentation and collecting a cheque for £10,000 Alex added: “I’m absolutely ecstatic, to be honest, it hasn’t sunk in but I’m sure it will on the long drive home! The standard of angler in the final is exceptional, so to add this to my CV is something I’m delighted with.
It’s been an excellent two days, the fishing here is unbelievable and provides the perfect venue for the final, hopefully, I’ll be back again next year to try and retain my title! A big thanks to Jon for running the event, and all the sponsors who make it possible each year.”
