MAP Feeder Rod Power Options: Standard, SUV & Ultralight Explained
If you're looking for the perfect MAP feeder rod, understanding the different power options available across the range is key to making the right choice for your fishing style.

Within MAP's feeder rod ranges, there are a variety of power options to help anglers tailor their rod choice to many different styles of feeder fishing.
The Parabolix Ultra II and Parabolix Pro ranges offer three power options — Standard, SUV, and Ultralight — while the Extremis range has two: Standard and SUV.
What Are the Different Power Options?
Within the Parabolix rod ranges, the Standard rod acts as the benchmark. The SUV (Stepped Up Version) offers 15% more power, while the Ultralight delivers 15% less power than the standard — perfect for finesse fishing situations.

The Extremis range, designed for commercial and larger natural venues, is available in Standard and SUV models only.
MAP Standard Feeder Rods
The Standard feeder rods are the perfect all-rounders, featuring a soft to medium action and ideal for targeting carp and silver fish up to around 6lb. Available in 9, 10, 11 and 12ft options, there's a standard rod to suit most feeder fishing situations.

-
9ft models are purpose-built for short-range fishing on commercials and natural venues, with the Extremis being the more powerful of the two options
-
10ft and 11ft models are ideal for short-range fishing up to 35 metres, using feeders up to 35g
- 12ft models excel at distances up to 50 metres with feeders up to 45g

10ft: Parabolix Ultra II 10ft Feeder | Parabolix Pro 10ft Feeder | Extremis 10ft Feeder

MAP SUV Feeder Rods — Stepped Up for More Power
The Stepped Up Version (SUV) feeder rods were introduced to the MAP range a few years ago and have proved incredibly popular with anglers who demand more — both in terms of fish size and casting ability.

At 15% more powerful than the standard models, SUV rods are the ideal choice when:
- Catching carp into double figures
- Fishing wild natural venues where heavier feeders are needed to reach distance
- You need more control over bigger fish without sacrificing the parabolic action MAP rods are known for
Crucially, the additional power doesn't compromise the parabolic action, making SUV rods equally suited to bream fishing as they are to commercial carp venues.
SUV feeder rods available:
10ft: Extremis 10ft SUV | Parabolix Pro 10ft SUV | Parabolix Ultra II 10ft SUV
11ft: Extremis 11ft SUV | Parabolix Pro 11ft SUV | Parabolix Ultra II 11ft SUV
12ft: Extremis 12ft SUV | Parabolix Pro 12ft SUV | Parabolix Ultra II 12ft SUV
MAP Ultralight Feeder Rods — Perfect for Finesse Feeder Fishing
For anglers targeting numbers of small fish — and skimmers in particular — the Ultralight feeder rods offer a specialist solution. Available in the Parabolix Ultra II and Parabolix Pro ranges in 10ft and 11ft, these rods are 15% softer in action than the standard models.

The incredibly soft action makes playing delicate species like skimmers, roach or winter carp and F1s a real pleasure, giving you greater feel and control throughout the fight.
A standout feature of the Ultralight rods is the hybrid tip — a carbon quivertip with a short section of fibreglass spliced in for incredible bite registration. When every bite matters, this sensitivity can make a real difference to your catch rate.

Ultralight feeder rods available:
10ft: Parabolix Ultra II 10ft Ultralight | Parabolix Pro 10ft Ultralight
11ft: Parabolix Ultra II 11ft Ultralight | Parabolix Pro 11ft Ultralight
